Clinical Services Available over Telehealth

While some specialties and evaluations are more quickly and easily adapted to the telehealth arena, resulting in immediate acceptance, on a national basis programs are increasingly expanding their menu of services to include specialties that may not have been considered in the past. The list of clinical interactions that are taking place in Nebraska includes:

  • Mental/Behavioral Health: counseling, assessments, pre-admission to inpatient care
  • Dermatology: chronic and acute skin lesions
  • Emergency/Teletrauma Services
  • Family Advocacy Network: abuse examinations and interviewing by medical and law enforcement
  • Internal Medicine/Specialty Care: medication management, follow-up visits, test reviews and interpretation (Neurology, Pulmonolgy, Oncology, Cardiology, Endocrinology)
  • Infectious Disease: follow-up, medication management, physician-to-physician consultation
  • Pre and Post Surgical Assessment (Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Vascualar and General)
  • Neonatology: outreach, case studies, consults, discharge planning
  • Orthopedics: pre and post surgical assessments, medical management, x-ray and CT scan evaluations
  • Otolaryngology: assessments and follow-up
  • Pediatrics: Shriner's Hospital, genetic counseling, medical management
  • Radiology/Teleradiology
  • Rehabilitation Therapy, Consultation and follow-up (Speech, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy)
  • Disease Management (Diabetes, CHF, CVD)
